<div>One of my dearest friends, Chelsea, is facing one of the most difficult journeys, a metastasized breast cancer that has spread through her spine with potential to spread to her brain and elsewhere. Her medical team told her in early August that no time is guaranteed. They said that her best case, barring a miracle, is that IF her body responds well to the Chemotherapy treatment that she may have a couple of months to get her things in order and enjoy her time with her family. She and her husband Dylan who has been like family to me since the beginning of our friendship in middle school have a beautiful 1.5 year old daughter.

<div>Chelsea is one of the kindest and most joyful people I know and is facing this with faith, courage, and grace. She has said that her goal is to “fill as many good days and good moments as she has with laughter, joy, and love.”

<div>Dylan is working and torn between the obligation and necessity of earning an income to provide for current financial needs and the option to request unpaid time off of work through his available unpaid FMLA to spend these precious moments with his beloved wife Chelsea and to support her in fulfilling her wish of filling more moments with joy and love as well as supporting her in endeavors to create and leave momentos of her love for their sweet little daughter.

<div>We are looking to raise funds to supplement Dylan’s income for the time he can take off of work with his FMLA. As of late August he has about 10 weeks yet available since using some days over the course of her months long breast cancer treatment prior to this recent increase in gravity of the situation.

<div>I have been visiting at least weekly in August and providing some physical support as I can, and I see the needs they have for more so that she can more fully live out her goal. I have also committed to provide some financial support so that Dylan can feel more at peace in taking time off without financial worry and in such Chelsea can experience more peace of the physical presence and support of her husband during the days and can fill her days with more joy amidst the immensely challenging circumstances.
