Chelsa Bunker's Medical Expenses

On Thursday, September 7, Chelsa dropped her daughters off at school. On her way home, she was hit by a semi truck and sustained life-threatening injuries. We thank God her 15-month-old son, who was also in the car, was spared from any injury or harm during the accident. Chelsa however, was rushed to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for immediate care.

Currently, Chelsa has yet to wake from her accident. She suffered injuries to her spleen, liver, kidneys, and lungs. She broke several ribs and had several breaks in her pelvis. While her body is slowly healing from the impact, the greatest concern is for injuries to her brain. She cracked her skull and sustained serious brain trauma. She has suffered a couple strokes and the accident caused shearing in the brain. It is unclear how significant and permanent this damage will be until she wakes up. In the mean time, her family and friends are praying for the miracle she needs. 

All who know and love Chelsa know what a devoted wife and mother she is. One of the most difficult parts of this accident is how much her children miss her and worry for her. Her husband, Chris, loves her so much and is doing what he can to ensure Chelsa receives the best care and medical attention possible. She is also surrounded by devoted family members and a strong network of friends, mission companions, and neighbors who are praying for her recovery.

At this time, we'd like to provide Chelsa's army of friends and neighbors the opportunity to ease the burden of this tragic accident for Chris, their children, and extended family. While the Bunkers have not asked for financial assistance, we want to ensure that bills and medical expenses are the least of their worries during this difficult time.
