#Chefs for Ukraine - I'm going to Poland to help!

My name is Henry Patterson (known to many as "HPatt") and I am embarking on a volunteer mission to join these chefs in Przemyśl, Poland at the border of Ukraine.

 

Watching the humanitarian tragedy unfold these past weeks, I have been distraught and asking what I could do. To cook has always been essential for me, so it's an obvious answer that I go there and provide my immediate help on the ground.

 

In Poland, I will be working with World Central Kitchen (https://wck.org) supporting their efforts to feed refugees escaping the war raging in their country. I have done extensive research on this organization. Started by chef Jose Andres following the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, WCK's Chef Relief Teams have done brilliant work in over a dozen disaster areas. It inspires me personally, given my career and passion for cooking. Forty-five years ago, I started the Bel Canto Restaurant company, subsequently advising other restaurateurs (Foodservice Financials) and coaching their teams (Rethink Restaurants) with a commitment to integrity and respect for all participants.

 

I will be in Poland from March 21st to April 5th; please help me help all the people escaping the war in Ukraine and follow me on Instagram for updates while volunteering there.

 

USE OF FUNDS:

 

- 100% of the funds raised via this campaign will be donated to World Central Kitchen

- all travel and accommodation expenses are being covered by me personally

- I am personally matching the first $5,000 raised via this campaign
