Chef Waters Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
Jasiree Waters is the 20 year old son of Stacey Mathis. On March 2, 2017  while Jasiree was at school he experienced a little shortness of breath and figured he would go outside to get some air.  After some time when the symptoms didn't pass, he had his friends take him to an urgent care to get checked and possibly get an inhaler if needed.  Instead of discovering possible signs of asthma he was transfered to the hospital where the doctors discoverd a very large mass in his chest compressing his lungs and heart.  A couple weeks later he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).   With no prior warning or signs of sickness the life of Jasiree and the Waters' family changed over night. Jasiree had to put his college career in the Culinary Program at Johnson & Wales in Miami on hold and immediately undergo 3 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, closer to home.  He is currently undergoing Radiation Therapy to treat the remainder of the mass.
Stacey, a single mother of 4 with 2 still in high school. She manages to stay by Jasiree's side, whether at a local hospital 15 minutes away or at Moffit Cancer Center 45 mins to an hour away, while maintaining the household for her 2 kids at home.  All his siblings continue to play an awesome part in helping and assisting their brother and mom to the best of their ability.  While there is an amazing support system that has rallied behind the Waters' family, whether to help with groceries, transportation to and from school, checking in on the kids at home, standing in at the hospital so Stacey can work, and so much more...it's still not enough to provide the peace of mind needed when it comes to the everyday bills.
Due to the critical state Jasiree is in, Stacey is unable to work a full schedule.  Needless to say, this affects her pay greatly and in turn affects all the everyday bills including rent, utilities, vehicle repair and maintanence, along with medical and cleaning supplies.
This is written on behalf of Stacey and the Waters' family soliciting monetary assistance and/or assistance via prayers, and acts of love.  We thank you in advance for any all that you are able to do to assist with providing peace of mind to the Waters' family.
