Update: The outpouring from all of you has been amazing and beyond heartfelt. The donations,messages, cards from friends and family, friends coming in and helping at the restaurant. You're all an amazing support system and we thank you all.

Things haven't gone as planned after the surgery, slow to getting back to a normal pace at the restaurant with limited hours. Chef has been in a lot of pain and may have done a bit too much last week causing some hemorrhaging from his surgical area. A second surgery is planned in the next few weeks which will most likely take a week or two to recover from again. Come in and support us as much as you can please. I don't think Chef ever saw something like this coming and I know it has been frustrating for him not to be back to normal.

The team is doing great covering the restaurant and we are hoping to be back on a normal schedule soon.

After years of supporting the greater Orlando community with his food, love and dedication, Chef AJ now needs to ask the community to support him back more than ever. A recent emergency from a sudden onset of diverticulitis forced AJ to close the Hen & Hog this past week to receive emergency surgery. The first surgery was cancelled due to infection, the second surgery was more evasive and required a portion of his large intestine to be removed. The Hen & Hog will remain closed for the time being but friends and family along with his staff are doing everything possible to reopen as soon as possible. Anyone who knows AJ knows how much he loves caring for people through all he does, let's show him how much we care back!
