Handicap Van for my Daughters

My name is Dawn Zubrenic. I am starting this fund me page in the hope of raising funds to purchase a newer handicap accessible vehicle for safer, reliable transportation for my children. I am a single mother of two daughters with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. Allison is 14 years old and she is such a happy and spunky talkative teenager. Allison ambulates in a powerchair, for this reason we need a lift on a van. Audrey is 12 years old and she is my "lover" she always wants hugs and kisses, she is congnatively at about a 4 year old level. Audrey also has a wheelchair, but it is a manual chair. Having two daughters in wheelchairs is not easy, I try to keep their life filled with activities that are adapted for children with special needs, they are involved in cheerleading, baseball, they go to Riley special needs camp every summer, they go special needs waterskiing, among other activites. The girls both have two therapies twice a week and many doctor appointments. Because of their disability, we have to travel a lot.

We currently have a 1999 Ford Econoline full size van with a lift. Allison's chair gets tied down in the middle of the van, and I currently have to lift Audrey (103#) into the front seat then lift her chair into the rear of the van.  There is no heat/no air, 175+K miles, the doors do not lock, one of the power chair tie downs is broken, the seatbelt that is supposed to go around Allison IN her chair does not work, the suspension is starting to go. This van has broke down on us several times. The worst part about it, is not the being stranded, although that really sucks, but Allison's chair has to stay in the broken vehicle simply because that is the only way to transport it. (This has unfortunately happened more than once). A brand new full size vehicle with a raised roof is in the ball park of $69,000 and then adding all the adaptions for 2 wheelchairs it totally outrageous, I would never be able to purchase or finance that on my own (without winning the lottery), so I'm asking for any type of help we can get. I am looking into getting a slightly used, yet still reliable and sound vehicle for the safety of my girls.
