Andy hit a home run at his weekly Hamburg softball game, and at a play at the plate got hit in the face and broke his jaw in 3 places.
The injury required 2 different hospitals, a cat scan, an emergency surgery, anesthesiologist and medication. His jaw is wired shut for 6-8 weeks. He cannot talk or eat, but only drink through a straw and supplement with a regimen of liquid vitamins. Though Andy works full-time as a manager at a company he's been with for 6 years, his small business does not provide health benefits. Because he has a steady job, he is not eligible for Medicaid or other financial support and needs to return to work right away. Without insurance, his total hospital bills are estimated to be $40000 - $50000. We are hoping to raise 1/2 the costs, with family supporting him for the remainder.
