Three brothers displaced due to Chattooga flooding
Chattooga County Family Flood Relief.
On September 4th, a strong storm dumped almost a dozen inches in some areas of Chattooga County. This caused severe flash flooding in the county, impacting dozens of residents and businesses. Within a day or two, most of the flood waters had begun to recede out of homes and businesses, but at the home of three brothers, Zach & Levi (McGuire), and Mathew (Tapp), the water remained.
As of today, (September 13), their home on Jenkins Gap Road is still surrounded by water after having standing water inside the home for multiple days. Due to them still dealing with standing water surrounding their home, they have not been able to drive up to their house and begin any type of work, and at this point they don’t know exactly how much damage has been done. They do know water sat in the air vents/ducts for days and the floor is unsafe to walk on. Their furniture has been damaged, some of their kid’s belongings were damaged, and all flooring will need replaced. They could also be dealing with electrical issues, etc.
If anyone could please donate, it would be very much appreciated by the brothers and their family. Insurance is not covering the flood and emergency relief is not helping sufficiently either. These boys work very hard for what they have and would greatly appreciate any donations to help them be able to make repairs and get back into their home that they miss and love.
Thank you so much.
