Chase Copenace

Recently Chase had an unexpected seizure while at work on the evening of Wednesday December 6, 2017. While at the hospital in Fort Frances, ON a CT Scan was ordered and discovered a benign mass (brain tumour) the size of 2.2cm in diameter. Which was the cause of the seizure and surgery was recommended to remove it. Closest neurologist was in London, ON. We were given a days notice to make arrangements to be in London immediately. Thankfully, the hospital gave chase courtesy medical airplane to fly him direct with one champarone at no charge. Unfortunately, the other costs for his companion and his extra needs while in London were not expected at all. Also other travel and accommodations while staying here in London has proven to be a bit of a financial challenge.  Once we landed in London we were informed we would be here for a minimum of a weeks time to a months stay. To help Chase with family support other travel costs had come to be as well. Surgery is going to be done hopefully Wednesday December 13, 2017 to remove the tumour. I Dawn am Chase Copenace's guardian. I have had him living with me for 3 years now. Was not arranged through any agency and I have been caring for him on my own. He is in his senior year for high school and is expected to graduate June 2018. Which he will then be attending college in Fort Frances for approximately 1 year as he is still not quite sure on what he wants to continue in for a career. I was informed of this wonderful thing called "gofundme" website which is designed to help support a family in this type of need. I had no idea it would be such a huge success. Which made Chase see how special he really is and how many people in our local community have been showing their support through his testing and biopsy surgery for his brain tumour that was discovered after his seizure. I Dawn Jourdain have been covering the extra costs that coincide with being with him in London, ON at the London Health Science Centre in the children's department. The donations that have been given through his gofundme page will only be used to help cover the expenses that go along with being so far away from home and having to be here in London. Anything is appreciated and will help make this an easier and less stressful experience.
