<div>This is the story of how the nation's largest bank has pushed our friends to the verge of near bankruptcy and has exacerbated a David vs. Goliath battle against the bank trying to foreclose on their house that was paid off years ago. They need financial assistance to help them with their ongoing legal expenses in order to reopen their case and contest a recent unfavorable court decision. They have newly discovered evidence that the bank allegedly committed perjury and fraud.

<div><strong>Background:</strong>
</div>
<div>Tom Ravana &amp; JoAnn DeBartolo, a devoted couple for more than 25 years have been in a legal fight for many years with JPMorgan Chase Bank, the largest banking institution in the nation. The story begins when, shortly after Tom borrowed money from Chase Bank for a home loan, he suffered a heart attack and needed emergency surgery. To worsen the situation, JoAnn also faced a sudden illness and was also hospitalized. As a result of these illnesses, they fell behind on their payments and Chase Bank immediately began foreclosure proceedings.

<div><strong>More Bad News:</strong>
</div>
<div>Tom &amp; JoAnn traveled to Chicago to attend the untimely funeral of a beloved family member. While there, they were nearly killed in a horrific auto accident. JoAnn broke her femur, tibia and both of her feet were crushed and she was hospitalized at Loyola University Hospital for almost five weeks and endured multiple surgeries. ￼ Tom also had to have major surgery to repair the damage done to a prior back surgery.

<div>To make terrible matters worse, because of a clerical error on the part of the hospital, their health insurance carrier refused to transport them back to Naples, FL via air ambulance so JoAnn could begin her extensive physical therapy to learn to walk again. Tom tried to resolve this problem between the hospital and their health insurance carrier to no avail. Tom decided to contact the NBC news affiliate in Chicago to see if their investigative reporter would do a news story about their plight. The news station agreed to cover their story featuring both problems: their health insurance carrier dilemma as well as their bank foreclosure situation.

<div><strong>NBC to the Rescue!</strong>
</div>
<div>After the news story aired, Tom &amp; JoAnn's health insurance carrier reconsidered their decision and paid for the air ambulance transport! Also, according to the news station's management, they had an inquiry from a member of the community inquiring about Tom &amp; JoAnn's status with their bank situation.

<div>Unknown to Tom &amp; JoAnn, seven months after the news story aired, the bank issued a<strong> Satisfaction of Mortgage</strong> document signed by a bank vice-president, two witnesses and a notary public in July 2010. The identity of this generous philanthropist is still unknown.

<div><strong>Still NOT out of the woods:</strong>

<div>You would think this is a happy ending for the couple…except four years after the receipt of the Satisfaction of Mortgage, and no communication whatsoever from Chase Bank, Chase filed <strong>ANOTHER </strong>foreclosure action against Tom &amp; JoAnn. During the course of this second foreclosure proceeding, Chase Bank alleged that the Satisfaction of Mortgage issued in 2010 was in error! The litigation lasted four years and during this time, <strong>Chase refused to provide any evidence </strong>to refute how the alleged "error" occurred. Tom &amp; JoAnn's attorney made reasonable discovery requests and the attorneys for Chase failed to comply with their requests.

<div><strong>Trial - Chase v. Ravana &amp; DeBartolo:</strong>
</div>
<div>After paying legal fees for many years to fight to keep a<strong> house that was paid off</strong> years ago, Tom &amp; JoAnn went to trial. At the conclusion of the trial, the judge ruled in favor of Chase Bank. According to Tom &amp; JoAnn, the court ignored arguments by their attorney of no discovery, no witness depositions, and no proof that the officer of the bank did not work at Chase Bank when the Satisfaction of Mortgage was signed. Their attorney even supplied other mortgage satisfactions signed by the very same bank officers before and after the date his was signed. Those documents, according to Tom &amp; JoAnn were not admitted into evidence by the trial court. Tom &amp; JoAnn further state that the judge would not even allow their own Satisfaction of Mortgage into evidence. According to Tom &amp; JoAnn the only "proof" the bank put into evidence was testimony from a bank representative that they say had no first hand knowledge of the case. This <strong>injustice </strong>needs to be <strong>CORRECTED!</strong>

<div><strong>Motion to Reconsider:</strong>
</div>
<div>Tom &amp; JoAnn have retained a new attorney to reopen their case to get the judge to reconsider last year's decision. They hired a private investigator to locate the bank employees that signed their Satisfaction of Mortgage. The private investigator traveled to Louisiana and Texas in an attempt to obtain statements from the Chase employees. One witness cooperated by providing a sworn written statement. This written statement was enough for Tom &amp; JoAnn to file a motion for reconsideration in the trial court.

<div><strong>In Closing...</strong>
</div>
<div>Tom &amp; JoAnn are in desperate need of financial support in this struggle and fight against the Goliath of JPMorgan Chase Bank. Tom &amp; JoAnn promise to use all donations to pay for legal &amp; investigator fees that have financially ruined their lives. Even to this day, both Tom &amp; JoAnn are still receiving physical therapy twice a week for the grievous injuries that they both suffered.
