Our story,
My beautiful wife Charmaine was diagnosed with MS 25 years ago – as heartbreaking as this news was to a newlywed couple, we embraced our journey ahead with strength and courage.
The challenges this disease has caused up until this point has been somewhat manageable. However, roughly 5 years ago the disease went from unpleasant to quite the nightmare. So much that we had to give up our home as Charmaine’s mobility decreased and we relocated to a place where a scooter and walker were much easier for Charmaine to get around.
As of today, we are dealing with a diagnosis of secondary progressive MS which is causing more of a concern in Charmaine’s well being. Through research and much faith we have decided to try the stem cell transplant which requires chemotherapy.
During the Christmas Holidays we are flying to Puebla Mexico, where we are enrolled at the Clinic Ruiz and staying on premise from December 8th to January 4th. At Clinic Ruiz, Charmaine will be receiving chemotherapy treatments - which will kill the white blood cells and then clean stem cells will be introduced. This will minimize the progression of this disease that Charmaine is battling.
The procedure to help Charmaine will cost approximately $75,000.00 therefore, with the help of your generosity, we are asking if you can find it in your hearts to “give” so that Charmaine will be able to spend next Christmas at home with our family.
