Charlotte's cancer treatment and dietary needs

Donation protected

Hello, I'm Richard and my daughter, Charlotte(to me) Charley to most, suddenly had a few fits just under 5 years ago.
After tests it was discovered she had a large tumour, around the size of a tennis ball on her brain.
She then underwent a  9 hour operation (of which she had to be awake for around 4 hours) in the Heath in Cardiff to remove as much of the tumour as possible, it is not possible to remove all of the tumour because of where it is. I  have to say, the surgeon,  George is amazing ❤.

It went as well as it could have and was followed by 8 weeks of radiotherapy and then a year of chemotherapy. All seemed well for 3 and a half years or so, as scan after scan revealed no signs of the tumour growing back.

Charlotte had frozen her eggs before the operation,  following advice about the treatments but amazingly she had a baby during this time, Seren,my granddaughter, which was wonderful news. She also got married, and she was happy.

She also did some successful fundraising of her own for cancer research during this time, which was amazing considering what she was going through.

Unfortunately, towards the end of last year it had started to grow again and Charlotte faced another big operation, this one was harder and affected her speech  and arm movements.
Then more radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which again was harder than before.

NOW THE BAD PART.

Chemotherapy does not seem to be working and it has started to grow back quicker this time and become more aggressive. The tumour has gone from a grade 2/3  to a grade 4.

The consultants have recommended a different form of chemotherapy, which she has just started. We don't know how this is going to go.

So, basically we have decided on giving her the best chance possible by looking at other treatments and specific dietary requirements.
One example is oxygen treatment, which can slow down or even reverse the growth in some cases. She is on a waiting list for this.

I've set a target of 2k  because you have to set a target  but we can't be sure of the total cost and I'm afraid, even with family help, we can't do it alone.

I'd like to thank everyone who helps in advance. It's already been a long journey and I hope we can get to the end of it positively with everyones help ❤
