<div>On Monday 7th July 2025, Charlotte Taylor and her beautiful family received the devastating news that Charlotte has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

<div>Following her diagnosis, Charlotte was admitted to hospital as an inpatient and has started a 28-day intensive chemotherapy treatment plan. As part of this, on Day 14, she will receive chemotherapy via a lumbar puncture, targeting the spine and brain. At Day 28, Charlotte will undergo a bone marrow biopsy. If all goes to plan, she may be allowed home for a few days before returning for another 28-day round of treatment.

<div>Due to infection control protocols, very little is allowed in Charlotte’s hospital room, and eventually, she will not be permitted to leave it either.

<div>What is Acute? 
</div>
<div>Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL)?

</div>
<div>Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells. It is called:
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Acute because it progresses rapidly, requiring urgent treatment.
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Lymphoblastic because it involves immature white blood cells called lymphoblasts.
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Leukemia because it originates in the blood-forming tissues (primarily the bone marrow).
</div>

<div>What Happens in ALL?
</div>
<div>In ALL, the bone marrow produces large numbers of abnormal lymphoblasts, which:
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Do not mature into normal white blood cells.
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Crowd out healthy blood cells, leading to:
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Anemia (low red blood cells)
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Infections (due to lack of functional white blood cells)
</div>
<div>* ﻿﻿Bleeding/bruising (due to low platelets)
</div>

<div>ALL is rare. Around 800 people are diagnosed with it in the UK each year. It can develop at any age but is more common in children—particularly those under 4—and young people. It affects more men than women.

<div>Charlotte, her husband Sam, and their four children—Boe (13), Bear (9), and twins River and Remi (4)—are all adjusting to their new reality with the love and support of family and friends.
</div>

<div>Charlotte is a devoted mother who spends her days caring for her children—encouraging Boe’s dreams of becoming a ballerina, supporting Bear’s wild and wonderful ideas, and exploring new adventures with the energetic twins, River and Remi. All the while maintaining a loving home and caring for their two cats, Luna and Mango.

<div>Sam, who works offshore on a freelance basis for half the year, has made the decision to remain at home for the foreseeable future to support Charlotte through treatment and ensure stability for the children during this incredibly difficult time.

<div>Previously, Charlotte had a health scare involving a lump in her breast. While thankfully it was benign, it unfortunately affected their critical illness insurance—leaving them without cover in the event of a serious diagnosis like this. With Sam now unable to work and their income halted, they are facing growing anxiety over household bills and day-to-day living expenses, on top of the emotional toll of a cancer diagnosis and the long road ahead.

<div>Since sharing her diagnosis, Charlotte has been overwhelmed with messages of love, encouragement, and positivity—each one giving her strength during this challenging time. She is truly grateful for every word of support.
