Charlotte's Trexo

Charlotte Brooks is the 3 year-old daughter of Kameron and Stephanie Brooks of Sherman, Texas.  When Charlotte was born full-term in January 2017 in Sisseton, SD, the umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck 5 times. Suffering asphyxiation upon birth, Charlotte was miraculously revived, although severe brain damage had occurred. Their beautiful daughter was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and is also completely deaf and blind as a result of the brain injuries at birth.


Charlotte has undergone multiple hospitalizations and operations due to her health challenges.  Upcoming operations include a cochlear implant so she will gain some hearing ability, as well as VDRO (varus derotation osteotomy), to prevent hip dislocation.  Charlotte regularly receives speech, physical, and occupational therapies.


Kameron (full-time youth pastor) and Stephanie (former elementary music teacher who now stays home with Charlotte, Lincoln [age 2], and another baby due to arrive Jan. 2021) have always remained optimistic about trying new therapies, but more than anything, they have always trusted in the Lord’s healing, provision, and protection for Charlotte.  When the Brookses saw the Trexo, they dreamed about a future in which Charlotte could one day walk rather than always rely on a wheelchair.  Research has shown that being upright is vital to a healthy life, including better breathing and proper growth in children.
