MLK Day Donation Drive for CLT's Displaced

In collaboration with Tesfa Ethiopia, UOTY Charlotte, and in light of the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday we will be collecting monetary donations to help the homeless population in Charlotte. At the beginning of the pandemic many of the homeless shelters have been shut down or reduced to 50% capacity for COVID-safety reasons. This has left a number of families and individuals  displaced and living in unhealthy living conditions. The winters in Charlotte are extremely cold and unbearable for anyone to be living outdoors. The donations collected for this campaign will go towards putting together care packages to distribute to the homeless population in an effort to keep them warm during the winter season. Items will include but are not limited to hand warmers, sole warmers, gloves, socks, scarves, toiletries, sanitary napkins, blankets, etc. Donations will be collected until the 12th and care packages will be distributed on MLK day.
Let us bring in the new year by servicing those that have been affected the worst by this unpredictable pandemic. We encourage you all to reflect on how fortunate you are to have simple necessities such as a warm meal and a bed to sleep on every night. This is not a reality for many people.
MLK day recognizes the late Dr. King's legacy of service while inspiring us to serve in our own ways.

ከተስፋ ኢትዮጵያ እና ከ ኢ.ቲ.ኦ.ቲ.ዋይ ሻርለት ጋር በመተባበር ከፊታችን ያለውን የታላቁን ሰብአዊ መብት ተሟጋቹን ማርተን ሉተር ኪንግ መታሰቢያ ቀንን በማስመልከት በሻርለት ውስጥ ለሚገኙ ቤት አልባ የማህበረሰባችን አባላት ለመርዳት ተነስተናል:: 

በኮቪድ-19 ወረርሽኝ ምክንያት በሻርለት ያሉት መጠለያዎች ወደ 50 በመቶ አገልግሎት አቅም ስለወረዱ አብዛኞች ቤት አልባ ወገኖቻችን ወደ ጎዳና ለመውጣት ትገደዋል:: በዚህም ምክንያት እነዚህ ቤት አልባ ወገኖቻችን ጤናማ ያልሆነ አኗኗር ዘይቤ እንዲኖሩ ተዳርገዋል:: እንደምናውቀው ይህ ወቅት በብርዱ ምክንያት እንዲሁም በወረርሽኙ ምክንያት ለማንም ከባድ ነው:: ቤት አልባ መሆን ደግሞ ይህንን ከባድ ጊዜ በእጥፍ ያብሰዋል:: 

በዚህ ዘመቻ የሚሰበሰበው ገንዘብ ይህንን ከባድ ጊዜ እነዚህ ወገኖቻችን ችለው እንዲገፉት የሚያግዝ ሲሆን, ጃኬት, ግለቭ, ካልሲ, ስካርፍ, ፎጣ እና እንደዚ የመሳስሉትን ነገሮች ለመለገስ ይረዳል:: እስከ January 12, 2021 ድረስ ገንዘብ ልገሳ የምንሰበስብ ሲሆን, January 18, 2021 ማለትም ማርተን ሉተር ኪንግ መታስእቢያ ቀን ላይ የምናድል ይሆናል:: 

ይህንን አዲስ አመት እነዚን ቤት አልባ ወገኖቻችንን አለንላችሁ በማለት እንቀበለው:: የማርተን ሉተር ኪንግ መታሰቢያ ቀን አንጋፋውን የሰብአዊ መብት ተሟጋቹን የሚያስታውስ ሲሆን ታላቅ የአገልግሎት እና የልገሳ ቀንም እንደሆነ ይታወቃል:: 


“ሁላችንም ታላቅ መሆን እንችላለን, ምክንያቱም ሁላችንም ማገልገል ስለምንችል:: ለማገልገል ዲግሪ አያስፈልግም:: ለማገልገል የሚያስፈልገው በፀጋ የተሞላች ልብ እና በፍቅር የታነፀች ነፍስን ነው::"
