Charlie's 190 mile walk for Cambs acf

My name is Cadet Sergeant Charlie Rice, I am from Cambridgeshire ACF Number 1 company (Whittlesey Detachment), as you may possibly remember in May 2019 I organised and took part in a 15-mile walk which raised nearly £2000 for the Cadet Force to help us buy better equipment and better the cadet experience.
So here we are now 2021 I will be doing the Coast-to-Coast challenge which is approximately 190 miles over mixed terrain- Sadly due to Covid19 restrictions I won’t be travelling to the coast but will complete the distance in my Local Fenland area. To make this challenge even harder I will be doing it carrying full kit.
I shall be doing this challenge throughout the next couple of months as part of my daily exercise during the Covid19 Lockdown. The money raised will be put back into the cadet force as during the pandemic we have sadly not been able to fundraise. Furthermore Major Lesley Deacon my Company Commander had planned for a team of us to do this challenge during the Easter 2021-Sadly again due to Covid19 that can’t happen so I have taken it upon myself to still do the challenge to raise much needed funds in the process.
Since 2019 I have developed my cadet experience even more by coming second in the ACF National First aid competition and have bettered my career by completing courses that allows me to teach other cadets and have also helped with Public engagement and many other things.
In July 2020 I was recognised for all my hard work by being appointed as one of the Lord-Lieutenants cadets for Cambridgeshire which is a highly prestigious appointment only 2-3 cadets get chosen in the county each year out of approximately 800 cadets.
In September I joined Cambridge Regional College to study Level 3 Uniformed Services which also has attachments to Cambridgeshire ACF I joined the course to help develop my skills even more and also develop as a person.
Any amount you are able to sponsor me will go a long way to helping many others enjoy the cadet experience when things return to normal
