Charlie is a 4 month old baby macaw who escaped from his house Thursday 08/22/19 at 4 pm.
Charlie spent 5 days and 4 nights stuck in various trees in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Charlie had no food or water during this time and the weather was averaging a low of 88 and high of 106. He was recovered the late morning of 08/26/19.
Charlie had a team of volunteers, family, and friends searching day and night for him. He was found a few different times in locations too high to reach him and places they could not even climb.
We are asking for funds to help pay for Charlie's vet care after he was recovered. Charlie lost 200 grams which is a significant amount of weight for a bird and was severely dehydrated requiring a stay at the clinic over night and emergency care.
