As many of you know, my daughter Taylor and her boyfriend Charlie just moved to Santa Rosa from Virginia. They have been living in the guest house at Charlie’s dad's house for only about three weeks now.
Early this morning a devastating wildfire swept through the area and both houses burned as well as Charlie's truck. Charlie was evacuating and had gathered as much of his and Taylor's important belongings as he could when his truck bed caught on fire. They tried to put out the flames but the fire was too intense and a sheriff told him to get out and run. Charlie was lucky to have made it out alive but they lost everything. Thank God, Taylor had had come down to San Diego to take care of a few things so Taylor and the two dogs were not there when the fire came through. Although Charlie has car insurance he and Taylor did not have any insurance for their personal belongings and will need help to get back on their feet. It took everything they had to make the move back to California.
Sadly, Taylor has been thru this before. In 2007, almost exactly 10 years ago to the day, our family lost our home in the wildfires here in San Diego. It’s hard to believe this could happen a second time.
Any donation you can give helps. They need money for hotel, finding a new place to live, clothing, food, household items, toiletries, etc.
