Charlie Company 2/504 PIR Veterans have begun an initiavie to relieve some of the smaller financial burdens incurred by families immediately after the loss of their spouse. We have been in contact with CSM (ret.) Rath concerning this issue. He, too, believes this is a worth while endeavor. The money collected will be used strictly for 1st BDE Families that have a lost/injured soldier due to combat or training. All Monies collected will be sent through the 504 Association for distribution  directly to those affected families.

The idea originates from a small sandy-haired country boy named Mackie Chism who perished in the BlackHawk crash. He was a medic. He left behind a young wife and a one year daughter then. As so many families undergo tremendous financial strain in the beginning of tragedy; this is an effort to help offset small incidentals a family may incur while going through the going through. This includes those KIA/WIA , Killed in training/ severely injured in training while currently on active duty.

We believe, as a group, our purpose is to help those currently serving; wherever and whenever the occasion may arise. If you would like to contribute 5.00, 10.00 or more dollars, please use the Gofundme site listed above. For those donating, if you want a tax-credit, please PM me directly. 504th Association indicated they would give you the paper work.
