Charli's Mitzvah Project

Basketball has been a passion of mine since I was five years old.  I have played basketball after school, before school, on the weekends, practically every day of every week of every month of every year for over seven years. Playing basketball makes me feel amazing and always puts a smile on my face.  Last year, when I was in fifth grade at Village School, I went to an assembly where wheelchair basketball players came and played with some of the sixth graders. Afterwards, they spoke about their experiences as professional wheelchair basketball players. I was blown away by them.  I was inspired by their ability, commitment and perseverance to excel despite their challenges.  For my Mitzvah Project, I have set the goal to raise enough money to purchase one  basketball wheelchair for someone in need. I will be contributing to this goal by coaching younger kids who share my love of basketball.
