Charlize had her surgery on December 12th- Atrioventricular Septal Defect repair. She's at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas and is recovering nicely. The new chambers are performing efficiently. We'll be with her while she recovers over the next week or so.
We found out at 20 weeks pregnant that our baby might have a hole in her heart. I was in denial and wouldn't believe it. At 30 weeks her condition  Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD) was confirmed. 
God opened a door through my sorority sister Christy. This led us to the number one hospital for Cardiology in the country: Texas Children's Hospital. Charlize was born at 39 weeks there in Houston, Texas.
We expected an immediate surgery due to her arch being too small. Her cardiologist said blood would have a tough time leaving the heart and going to her lungs. Her little valve closed and the blood flow was good! She was in the hospital for 53 days. She faced difficulty breathing and was on oxygen until 8/21. She encountered infection (UTI) and had an irregular heart rhythm. Both were conquered by God's grace through medication.
We were home together with baby girl by October 1st.
Many people have asked what they can do for us. Right now we need prayers to know when is the best time for surgery.   I'm starting this site for my daughter. This fund will ensure her needs will be met.
They say if the two little holes in her heart are fixed she'll have a normal life. That's we want for Charlize. She'll need surgeries and therapy (physical, occupational and speech) to get there.
Hospital and doctor bills are adding up.  Her health and healing is PRICELESS.
