Charles Mertz fight against cancer

This is Charles, Charles was diagnosed with malignant melanoma on 9/12/18 after he went to the dermatologist office to have a spot checked on his back. Melanoma is the most serious and aggressive form of skin cancer,and it is very important to treat as soon as possible. Charles needs to have surgery to remove a 9 inch by 6 inch section on his back to be able to hopefully remove all the traces of skin cancer cells.
He also has to have his lymph nodes biopsied to see if the cancer spread to them along with a PET scan and a CAT scan to make sure no cancer spread to any other part of his body. The problem right now is he doesn’t have insurance and surgery is expensive!! Charles is the sole provider for his kids and his wife. He has a son that is 5 years old that was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes in February on Valentine’s Day this year. Now 7 months later they found out that Charles has cancer. He is a very hard working, kind, loving, shirt off his back kind of man! They need help to be able to provide Charles with the surgery and scans he needs to remove the cancer to ultimately save his life so he can watch his children grow up!
