Charles was forced to retire in 2019 after a bad fall and a near-fatal case of rhabdomyolysis. He was then taken care of for the last four years by ex-wife Lisa Markwart and daughter Hubertine Henzler through the late stages of Parkinson's. Lisa provided round the clock care taking while Hubertine supported them financially. Because of Charles’s illness forcing him into retirement earlier than planned and the difficult nature of his illnesses, his family has struggled to financially plan his funeral/memorial service. Any support for a memorial service for Charles from those who loved him would be much appreciated at this time. He was hugely important in the lives of his family and friends, a beautiful, sensitive and kind soul.
