Boxes of Kindness: Patients who are about to start chemotherapy (especially their first treatment) at the Seamoor Unit, North Devon District Hospital, receive a “Box of Kindness”.

• These boxes include over ~35–40 items: things to help with side-effects, comfort during treatment (snacks, drinks), items to help pass the time (games, colouring, etc.), a headscarf or beanie (for hair loss), pill pots, thermometer, etc.

• They also provide information about other support charities and include a personalised, handwritten note from the volunteer who packed the box.
