Charity's Hip Surgeries

On February 7, Charity had the first of two highly specialized hip surgeries.
The surgery was 5 hours and the recovery was 7 hours with a few complications ... but God is good and she is on her way!
Charity stood for a minute today without weight bearing on her right leg.
We are excited! Please continue to pray for healing on this longvroad to recovery.
Charity has been waiting for several years, enduring agonizing pain in both hips. She has finally been approved for hip surgery, beginning with her right hip. She will be called soon to go for this surgery in Calgary.
Owen will be with her. The recovery time for this surgery is extensive, about six months: two weeks or so in Calgary, followed by a couple of months in a wheel chair, then graduating to crutches and a walker until she is able to weight bear.
This is the first of two major surgeries to preserve her hips and prayerfully to prevent the need for hip replacement at a later date.
This will involve significant expense as Owen will need to take time off of his work, as well as travel expenses and possibly some paid help at home.
If you would like to donate to help to offset these expenses, your help is accepted with gratitude.
There are other ways to help, as well. Your prayers for healing and recovery are so important. As well as your love and friendship.
Owen and Charity are a couple who give and love selflessly. Thank you for your love and prayers and support, however God leads you in that.
