Charity Candy Store Fundraiser

I've always had a dream of having my own Candy Store and my own Charity business and my husband and I have combined both dreams to create Jelvin's Candy Shoppe a Charity Retail Candy Store. I have a background in Hospitality Industry for 24 years with 6 successful new hotel openings under my belt in NYC and Greater Houston region. My husband has 20+ years of shipping and receiving and 12+ years of hotel operations experience. We are professionals with a strong history of bringing success to other businesses.
The premise behind Jelvin's is that the majority of our profits will go to hyper-local charities in the Greater Houston & Pasadena, Texas Communities. We are grateful for our successes and we have a strong desire to help others and we want to bring this business model of being a company that takes the majority of the profits and use it to help those in need.
Companies and individuals constantly spend money on Candy for themselves and/or gifts for clients and friends. So we thought if people were going to spend money on this why not create a business that will take the majority of the money they spend and give it to those in need. We hope to lead the way and encourage others to start similar businesses with other products as well.
We have two main charities that will benefit from this business:
- Sarah's House - A homeless women's and children's shelter located in Pasadena, TX
- South Houston Animal Shelter - An animal shelter located in South Houston, TX in dire need of support.
In addition, we will have Candy of the Month programs that will benefit other non-profits as well.
Our profits: In year one, 60%, then year two, 70% and by year three, 80% of our profits will go to the two main designated charities.
We are looking to raise funds for a brick & mortar location as well as an online presence and hope to do so within the next 6 months if not sooner. We are starting to sell locally with small gift boxes for the holiday season so we hope through that to be able to raise dollars that way as well. We have already established Jelvin's Candy Shoppe with the State of Texas and established our EIN so we are an officially recognized company.
We have so much support from so many in the Greater Houston Regions for this idea we are excited to finally launch our campaign. As a member of 4 different chambers in the Great Houston Region we are confident in the success of this business and excited to make a positive impact for those smaller charities that struggle on a daily basis to help others.
All levels of donations are beyond appreciated by us and we hope that if you are unable to donate yourself that you will share our story and our campaign with others.
