Last year (2019), I was notorious for being that transfer dude. More than $100K in “swaps”, like Venmo to Cashapp, Paypal to Zelle, etc etc. Early 2020 was no different. Person "x" (previously a business partner) would have his clients Paypal me large sums of money (upwards of $5,000 sometimes) and I wouldn’t think twice about it cause after all, they are a good friend of mine. I would receive the sum, transfer to my bank, then Zelle and Venmo him shortly after doing so. After doing these transfers, I went on living my life as normal, until July 16th, 2020, when one of their clients charged back on me for $2,000. This was only the start. Eventually, the total chargeback amount in addition to the Paypal chargeback fees became $22,345 (New total is $28,538.57) I have not received a single dollar from them yet and it has been a total of 125 days since. He has told me multiple times he would Zelle me, give me cash, bank transfer, Venmo, and other methods of payment by a certain time, and each time it was in vain. This sucks to put out to the public because I thought that he would make it right and figure it all out for me. I’m 16 years old, 25k+ debt tied to my social security, and everything to lose. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate them for introducing me to the people I now know and all the opportunities that he has given me. BUT I wish they would’ve made this right before it was too late. On November 20th, my debt will be passed to IQOR, a debt collection agency. Knowing this, it is likely that this will be reported to a credit union and I will get hit with it once I turn 18. In the picture, you can see that I tried to deposit money multiple times into my Paypal directly from his bank, and they all failed. I gave Person "x" the benefit of the doubt for almost 5 months, allowing them to give me false assurance that they will pay me. I’ve had enough. I’m tired of playing cat and mouse and waiting for a “transfer” to go through. I’ve come to the sad reality that I will likely have to liquidate all of my possessions to pay off this debt. All my shoes, clothing, accessories, all of it. That amount of money could’ve paid for half of my semester at Boston University if I choose to attend there. Everything I have made in the past 4 years will go up in smoke simply because I thought Person "x" would’ve done the right thing. I’m really not trying to deal with debt collectors and credit unions but if I have to, I have to. Life doesn’t stop.
With that being said, I was offered money to help pay off the debt, and I insisted that these individuals keep their money. It doesn't feel right to take handouts for me. However, now that I'm realizing the magnitude of this debt, i'm not sure if I will have enough value in my possessions counter it. I'm here asking for any assistance at all. I would like to personally thank each and every donor that contributes to my cause. Every penny counts.
All excess proceeds will go towards a terminal illness foundation or charity.
I’ve added my sister, Carrie He, as the beneficiary of this campaign because I am a minor and i’m not allowed to withdraw funds. Every withdrawal will go directly to my sister’s bank account, which will then be transferred from her Paypal to my Paypal. Proof of transfer will be provided starting from each withdrawal. More information about this situation is available on my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/lovesport8 I will address additional inquiries and concerns at my email: [email redacted]
