One of Jose Lopez's favorite quotes is "If you lose money you have lost much; If you lose a friend you have lost more; But if you lose your courage you have lost everything". And for anyone who knows him, there aren't truer words.

In 2001, Jose was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma for which he received a bone marrow transplant later on in 2002. By the grace of our awesome God we can say he is a cancer survivor! Unfortunately, Jose's health faced more medical troubles, including a heart attack and kidney failure. Throughout all of this, his courage and bravery have never faltered. Through the prayer and love of friends and family we have been able to get through these trying times and continue as a strong family unit. Our praise to God for his unconditional love and mercy on us will never cease. We are not only grateful for the time we have been blessed with to be together as a family, but for the many people God has placed in our path throughout this journey. The love and support that many of you have offered is more than we can thank you for.

As many of you know, there have been many recent changes in Jose's health, resulting in his current stay in the hospital. He is surrounded by his loved ones and the Holy Spirit. We trust that God will do what God will do, and no matter the outcome we believe whole heartedly that he has won this fight.

Because of the uncertainties surrounding his current state, the Lopez family has spent and will continue to spend their time with him in the hospital to guarantee his comfort. We realize that many of you, as his friends and family, would like to be here to support him, but given the circumstances we have limited his visitors to his children and wife. By contributing to this page, you will have the chance to support his wife and children through the coming uncertainties. We set a small goal because it is not about raising money; the ultimate goal is to support Jose's wife and children.

Jose has been a fighter for most of his life, and attacked any challenges with perseverance and strength. He is the definition of a champion in so many ways, and we are honored to know his beautiful soul.

Update: On Sunday morning, June 8th, Jose ran into the arms of the Lord and joined the ultimate worship team in Heaven. He no longer suffers the pains of the flesh, and now has eternal peace. HIs strong spirit lives on. Now that he has passed we know the amount we will need to help pay for services, please help us reach this goal.
