ChangeCI.org is a Central Islip grass roots organization whose mission is focused on community outreach and positive change for our school district. With your financial support we will continue the work that we have started.
This year we were effective in how we strategically
· Increased civic awareness and involvement
· Organized and empowered parents and community members
· Influenced school officials and held them accountable to propose a budget with a zero percent increase to property taxes in the 2014/15 school year!
We need your help and support to fund school board candidates for our culturally diverse community. We are a community that is economically and educationally disadvantaged. Of the districts eight schools, five are failing, yet we pay one of the highest taxes in ralation to our property values on Long Island. We are excited to announce that we have identified two candidates to run for our school board who share our vision.
Ten months ago the idea of a few quickly grew into a large group of concerned residents committed to self-education, uniting our community and protecting its future.
