#ChangeABeerForASmile - Sergio's Xmas Toy Run

In an effort to help out our friend Sergeio Leon Zegarra's Christmas toy run for the sick children of La Paz, myself and some other old faces from Wild Rover have set up a fundraiser to coincide with his own efforts back home in Bolivia. The concept is simple; why not donate the price of a drink over Christmas to help buy toys at Christmas for over one hundred Children in La Paz?

Anybody who knows Sergio will know he's an amazingly charitable person, and among the most friendly people you are ever likely to meet. So let's give him a hand!

Here is his story:

"HOW MUCH IS A BEER IN YOUR COUNTRY?

Hello to all my friends and family around the world!

If you are reading this it means you know Bolivia and we have shared a beer before. As you know Covid 19 is staying with us more than it should, affecting our life and the way how we use to see the day by day. In third world countries like mine, more than being afraid of the virus we are struggling with the unsustainable economy and this situation is worsening. Small and big companies have already been affected by this and this means that lots of the charity projects were shut down, leaving me with one question: Is there something I can do to at least help?

And yes, there is something that I can at least try.

I would like to take some presents to the child’s hospital and the best part is that you can help me! HOW??? Easy… with help of some friends I am opening a GO FUND ME account where you can share some love. My goal is to raise 600 Euros so I can cover the presents of at least 100 kids.

My offer in exchange of your help is that if I manage to take presents to all the kids in the hospital I will finally achieve your dream and turn myself into a lovely Blonde girl and I know I might regret this later. We will start raising funds today 4th of December and we will end on Friday the 25th; Christmas Day. Due to international money transfer times I will not be buying the presents that day, but this is okay because here in Bolivia we celebrate Three Kings (or little Christmas to many Europeans) on January 6th and this is also a day for presents and celebration for the children. On this day I will take all of your amazing gifts to be shared with the children's hospital in La Paz. However will pay my offer to become a lady on Christmas Day when we reach our target!

I will be constantly updating the status of the account in order to keep things clear for everyone.

Finally, to finish this I would like to answer the question I asked at the beginning but with a different point of view: How much is a beer in your country? A beer in your country is the same as 3 smiles in mine…
