Change the Head, Change the Heart Needs You!

Change the Head, Change the Heart is an initiative created by two Wake County English teachers and long-term friends, Tamara Barrett and Carla Tuttle, to educate others about systemic racism and injustice, encourage personal and social responsibility, and effect change in our community. We believe if individuals learn about the ways that social systems are inequitable, they will consider other perspectives about issues and will advocate for equity in policies and practices.  

As a nonprofit organization, we will model effective allyship and promote healthy conversations about social justice to help others learn about systemic injustice and find a way to use their voices for positive change.

Your donations will help us hire a lawyer to become a legally recognized nonprofit so we can help rid our communities of systemic racism, as we feel it is our duty to do so.
