Dear Friends and Family,
After careful consideration and thoughtful prayer, we have decided to start a GoFundMe for our beloved brother-in-law Chandra Dhakal. With big dreams and ambitions, he came to the United States on a Student Visa in 2013. He is currently a Ph.D. Student in Florida International University, Miami. His life felt apart when he was later diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) in 2015. The diagnosis has since brought countless physical, emotional and financial burden to him and his loved ones. They have been struggling to meet the medical expenses and college goals since then. His college insurance does not cover everything and it’s very difficult to pay the high medical bills.
He was almost in his remission of cancer. Unfortunately, Cancer cells transferred to his cerebral spinal fluid in brain, in the form of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in Dec 2018 and doctors decided to do Bone Marrow Transplant for his survival. Since January 2019 he is going through strong chemotherapies and radiations.
Fortunately, they were able to witness a silver lining to this adversity – his brother’s cells were a 100% match. They transported those cells to United States and had his Bone Marrow Transplant on August 28th, 2019 in Baptist Hospital, Kendall Florida. All these procedures will leave them again in a financial bind. It is also expected that the entire treatment will take over 2 years for complete recovery. They are struggling to meet the new medical expenses and basic needs.
We can’t share or participate in their pain, but we could be by their side on this journey. With our small effort, we could shed a light of hope in their lives. Any contribution will go directly toward’ s Chandra’s Leukemia’s fight. The goal of this Go Fund Me account is to reduce his financial stress so Chandra can focus on getting better. Any contribution you are able to donate will help him tremendously.
