<div>Hallo, mein Name ist Mara, ich bin 20 Jahre alt und bin seit vielen Jahren chronisch krank.

<div>Darunter zählen auch dissoziative, nicht epileptische Krampfanfälle, die eine Folge vieler traumatischer Erlebnisse aus der Vergangenheit sind.

<div>Ich traue mich nicht mehr alleine raus, weil ich Angst habe, dass der Tag im Krankenhaus endet, ich mich verletzte, sich meine Eltern oder Mitmenschen Sorgen machen könnten. Zudem kommt das die Krampfanfälle von ihrer Dauer stark variieren, von wenigen Sekunden bis über Stunden. Sie sind unfassbar anstrengend und sind mit starken Schmerzen verbunden.

<div>Bisher hatte ich durch meine Erkrankungen viele Schwierigkeiten. In der Schule wurde es immer schwieriger für mich und gipfelte darin, dass ich durch meine psychische Verfassung die Schule letztendlich in der 12. Klasse abbrechen musste und konnte somit mein Abi nicht machen.
Im Anschluss versuchte ich ein FÖJ, welches ich ebenfalls abbrechen musste, weil ich ständig im Krankenhaus lag und somit auch dieses vorzeitig beenden musste.

Ich möchte gerne eine Ausbildung machen, arbeiten gehen und am Leben teilhaben.
Ich möchte gerne selbstständig(er) werden, weniger Angst alleine verspüren und es schaffen irgendwann sagen zu können, dass ich das erste Mal in meinem Leben „lebe“ und nicht „nur überlebe“.<br />

<div>Doch meine Diagnosen schränken mich sehr ein.

<div>Mein Leben dreht sich täglich um Stressreduktion, Rückfälle, Therapie, Aufenthalten in Kliniken, Krankenhäusern und bei Ärzten.

<div>Ich würde mir wünschen wieder Zeit mit Freunden und Familie verbringen zu können, mehr Freude verspüren zu können und irgendwann ein Leben außerhalb von Kliniken, Krankenhäusern und meinen eigenen vier Wänden zu führen.

<div>Daher möchte ich Mika aus dem AnimalTrainingCenter in Österreich adoptieren und ausbilden lassen.

<div>Mika ist 1,5 Jahre alt und ein Labrador-Retriever Mischling. Er ist eine echte „Gute-Laune-Bombe“ und ein verspielter, aufmerksamer und aufgeschlossener junger Hund.

<div>Mika wird lernen Stress, auch Krampfanfälle, vorher anzuzeigen, sodass ich Vorsichtsmaßnahmen ergreifen kann. Ebenso hilft er mir durch Co-Regulation, z.B. Kopf ablegen oder auf mich drauflegen, mich wieder zu beruhigen. Er<span> wird ein professionell ausgebildeter PTBS-Assistenzhund, der mir durchs Leben hilft, mich begleitet und mich durch schwere Zeiten bringt.</span>

<div>Leider sind die Kosten der Ausbildung des Hundes im Trainingscenter sehr hoch.

<div>Hi, my name is Mara, I’m 20 years old and have been chronically ill for many years.
</div>
<div>My condition includes dissociative, non-epileptic seizures, which stem from numerous traumatic experiences in my past. 
</div>
<div>I no longer dare to go out alone because I’m afraid the day might end in the hospital, that I might get hurt, or that my parents or others might worry about me. On top of that, the duration of the seizures varies wildly, ranging from a few seconds to several hours. They are incredibly exhausting and accompanied by severe pain. 
</div>

<div>My illnesses have caused me a great deal of hardship so far. Things became increasingly difficult for me at school, eventually culminating in me having to drop out during 12th grade due to my mental health, meaning I couldn't complete my high school diploma. Afterward, I tried participating in a Voluntary Ecological Year program, but I had to quit that as well because I was constantly in the hospital. I want to pursue vocational training, work, and participate in life. I want to become (more) independent, feel less afraid when I’m alone, and eventually reach a point where I can say I am truly "living" for the first time in my life, rather than "just surviving."

<div>But my diagnoses severely limit me. My daily life revolves around stress management, dealing with setbacks, therapy, and stays at clinics, hospitals, and doctors' appointments. 
</div>

<div>You can’t really call this a life anymore.<br />

<div>I long to spend time with friends and family again, to feel more joy, and eventually to lead a life outside of clinics, hospitals, and the confines of my own four walls. 
</div>

<div>That is why I want to adopt Mika from the AnimalTrainingCenter in Austria and have him professionally trained as my service dog. 
</div>
<div>Mika is a 1.5-year-old Labrador Retriever mix. He is a bundle of joy, a playful, attentive, and outgoing young dog. 
</div>

<div>He will learn to alert me to stress and even impending seizures in advance, allowing me to take precautionary measures. He will also help me calm down through co-regulation, for instance, by resting his head on me or lying across my body. 
</div>

<div><span>Mika will become a professionally trained PTSD assistance dog, helping me navigate life, accompanying me, and getting me through difficult times. </span>

<div><span>Unfortunately, the cost of training the dog at the center is very high. The total cost is €35,000, an amount I cannot raise on my own, as my limitations make it impossible for me to work. </span>
