Chance Oakleys Battle with Leukemia

Donation protected
Chance Oakley is a typical 17 year old boy who attends Gravenhurst High School. He has a love for basketball and video games, is a hard worker, does well in school and is a great friend to his peers.

On Thursday May 17th Chance got up to get ready for school. He noticed that his eyes were slightly swollen. He pushed through his school day. After seeing a doctor, it was thought that Chance was just having an allergic reaction and he continued on with his day. On Friday morning Chance woke up to his eyes being almost completely swollen shut! His was taken to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital. Upon tests, his family was told that they believed that Chance had Leukemia. Chance was then transported to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto for further tests. On Saturday May 19th, Chance and his family received the heart breaking news that Chance had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a cancer of the blood.

Chance has already started Chemo therapy and has continued to hold a positive attitude through-out this unexpected, life changing news.

Chances battle has just started and the road ahead will be a difficult and stressful one for all, especially financially with medical expenses that are not covered, absences from work for family and transportation costs to and from Sick Kids Hospital.

Let’s give Chance back the love and support that he has always shown to others and help both him and his family through this difficult time.

Any donations would be appreciated. Thank you so very much!
