Chase Warren Cowles, 10, of Columbia, passed away September 14, 2018, at Children’s Hospital in St Louis, MO in his mother and father’s arms from complications following heart surgery. Chase was born in Columbia, MO on January 2, 2008 and is survived by his parents Clayton and Jennifer Cowles, his siblings, Hudson and Rilynn Cowles.
Chase was a boy full of life who lived each day fully. He was born 8 weeks premature with a heart defect, Tetralogy of Fallot. He had his first surgery at 6 months old and lived every day with a pacemaker, but he didn’t let that slow him down. He was active in Upward Basketball, Daniel Boone baseball and loved swimming and water fun. He was an avid fan of the Golden State Warriors and St. Louis Cardinals, often staying up past bedtime to catch the end of games. He was active at Fairview Elementary in safety patrol and impressed his friends with his sense of humor. He was playful, a jokester and “all in” when it was time to have fun. Most importantly, he loved others with an open heart, gave ginormous hugs, and lovingly aggravated his brother and sister to the end. His spirit is in our hearts forever!
He will also be missed by his paternal grandparents Robert, Lorena and Dacie Cowles and maternal grandparents Sharon Moore, Terry Haynie and Jerry Moore. He was also loved by a large group of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at The Crossing Church, Columbia, Missouri where a funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Graveside Service will be private for the family.
