<div>El síndrome de Rett, de origen genético, afecta principalmente a niñas, limitando su capacidad para hablar y caminar. Esta condición provoca regresión de habilidades ya adquiridas y movimientos repetitivos de las manos. Es esencial promover la inclusión, terapias y sistemas de comunicación avanzados para mejorar su calidad de vida. En España, los comunicadores basados en lenguaje natural asistido están en sus inicios, requiriendo formación y conciencia sobre el derecho a comunicarse. Descrito en 1966, el gen causante se identificó en 1999, y se descubrió su reversibilidad potencial en ratones en 2007, intensificando la investigación hacia tratamientos y curas.
