Challenge Day for our Middle School

Our hope at Wood Middle School is for ALL of our students to feel welcomed and accepted! We would love to have our students participate in Challenge Day an all-day event that creates lasting positve change. Challenge Day is an event that will help inspire our school community to be an environment full of acceptance, love and respect. Challenge Day will provide an opportunity for our students to come together, find commonality, have a sense of belonging and learn from one another and leave the event feeling safe, loved and celebrated. Challenge Day would be a transformational program that would have a long lasting effect on everyone at Wood Middle School and in our community.

What is Challenge Day?
Challenge Day is a national anti-bullying organization that builds compassion and promotes positive feelings in school. Throughout the all-day event students and adults participate in activities and discussions that allow them to recognize stereotypes and labels that exist among them, how they affect people and how as a whole they can share and connect as human beings. Challenge Day examines the impact that bullying, oppression and other forms of violence have on the participants’ lives and the lives of people around them. During this one day event students and adults are provided with the tools to break down walls of separation and isolation, by replacing them with compassion and empathy. 

Please help us reach our target so we can have Challenge Day at our school! We truly believe this event will be worth it for everyone.
