CHADS Coalition Fundraiser Honoring Tyler Wessel

Tax deductible

In honor of our brother, Tyler Wessel, we at Alpha Sigma Phi have started this fundraiser to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention and all proceeds will be donated to CHADS Coalition for Mental Health. CHADS' mission is to save young lives by advancing the awareness and prevention of depression and suicide. After a courageous battle with depression and aggravating health issues, Tyler decided to take his own life. From the Parkway School district and surrounding St. Louis areas to Bloomington, Indiana, Tyler developed long-lasting and meaningful friendships with everyone he encountered. His infectious smile, warm personality, and genuineness resonated with all who knew him. Tyler was known for bringing people together, seeking to bring into his fold those who may otherwise have been left out. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. His beautiful smile could light up a room and will be missed.

Tyler was a member of our most recent pledge class - Spring '21. Tyler had a vivid mind, a passion for sports, and loved a good debate. He was actively involved in various sports - basketball, soccer, flag football, and tennis. His competitive spirit paired with his friendly nature appealed to everyone. We are going to miss the many good times we had with Tyler and we are especially going to miss seeing him on the basketball court. No one at Alpha Sigma Phi will ever forget the infamous knockout competition when Tyler knocked out at least 10 brothers and hit the final knockout to win the competition for his pledge class. That's when the whole brotherhood knew not to mess with Tyler on the court.

Mental health is prevalent in many people's lives. It is something that is difficult to describe and even harder to understand. Please take this time to check in on your friends and family because you never truly know what someone is going through. And please consider donating to this fundraiser so that we can help bring awareness to these issues and to help others who are struggling with their mental health.
