I am Elizabeth Hildebrand and my hometown is Houston where I lived for over 20 years. Currently I live in Dallas and the catastrophic flooding that my family and friends are fighting through is heartbreaking. My best friend, Adrienne Collins, whom I grew up with has lost everything due to Hurricane Harvey. She and her husband, Chad, were forced to evacuate as the water started invading their newly remodeled home. Thankfully, Adrienne and her two children (Cate 9 yrs. and Owen 7 yrs.) got out the night before this nightmare started and Chad stayed behind to manage the house with uncertainty of what was coming. He finally had to leave with the water rising and waded his way out with their two dogs, Bug and Henry.
The best news is that they are safe and in dry places with their parents. Adrienne has had such an amazing attitude and perspective during this disaster and many people are gaining hope and strength from her.

The devastating news is that they learned from a neighbor who saw their home on the news that the water was up to their roofline on Wednesday. With the continued rising of the bayou, we all assume it has now surpassed that.
This is why we are asking you to step in and help donate to cover some of the financial burden this has now placed them in. They are meeting with a realtor today to find a rental to stay in during this long road of rebuilding ahead of them. Replacing basic needs such as towels, clothes, mattresses, etc. to furnish the rental are their first steps. Unfortunately, they have already endured a remodel from flood damage after the Tax Day Flood in April of 2016 when they had to move out for 9 months. This does not even begin to compete with the damage Harvey has caused their family. Thank you for you're consideration of helping the Collins in this meaningful way. These funds will be available for Adrienne to withdrawal directly to her personal bank account.
