Chad & Tammie Moore

On Saturday, May 27 Chad and Tammy were in a motorcycle accident they were both rushed to Margaret Mary hospital in Batesville Indiana's ER . They we're stabilize and then transferred to University Of Cincinnati, OH where physicians were better able to take care of their extensive injuries.

After many X-rays and scans Tammy was admitted into the neurological unit due to a brain bleed which resulted in a hematoma between her skull and her brain. Chad was admitted to ICU with 9 broken ribs

Day 1 they found out that Tammies right ankle was fractured ,at that point, they had to immobilize her and consider possible surgery. Tammie was badly banged up with bruises and severe road rash (esp on her face) to show for it, but her brain bleed had stopped at this point (thank you Lord ). That evening Chad took a turn for the worst with blood pressure bottoming out and excruciating pain, the damage from the broken ribs were starting to show. He was given two pints of blood and 2 pints of replacement fluid quickly and a chest tube was placed due to internal bleeding. Chad became critical at which time they placed him in a drug-induced coma and put him on a ventilator to assist with breathing. Chad had a punctured lung and a flail chest, his lungs were badly beat up and bruised. Surgery was inevitable.

Day 2 Tammie was getting stronger and surgery was ruled out for her right ankle, a walking boot was fitted to stabilize and aid in the healing process. Chad , on the other hand, showed no improvement. The chest tube continued to extract fluid from the chest cavity . The doctors ordered a 3D scan of the chest area to assess the extent of the damage to the ribs. There they found nine broken ribs, three of which were broken in three places. Six of the broken ribs were broken completely away from the spinal area and displaced (or overlapping in Laymans terms). To simply put it, chad had multiple clean breaks in his chest that were like sharp knives cutting through any tissue or organ that they came in contact with which shows you the danger that he was in before the surgery (I did not tell the family at the time, but this worried me SICK!!!).

Day 3 Surgery was scheduled for Wednesday day 4, they continued to keep chad on the vent , chest tube, (feeding tube was also added), and they kept him in a mild coma that he was easily awaken from periodically and was able to communicate with family through a mixture of charades and a wipey board . Tammie continued to heal.

Day 4 Tammie was released from hospital and ordered to rest and Chad was carted into surgery to repair ribs which ended up lasting a little under 5hrs long (WOW)! Surgery was a success , 5 titanium plates and 20 screws later Chad had a new set of ribs (breathing a sigh of relief).

Day 5 Chad was taken off of ventilator and continues to heal

Day 6 Chad was taken off of feeding tube and arterial line was removed but 2 chest tubes remain due to moderate amount of drainage still discharging.

Day 7 still healing

Day 8 still healing

Day 9 one chest tube finally out and potential going home with one chest tube still in place

Although we are super happy about Chads progress that he's made so far, he has a long road of recovery ahead of him. He will be rehabbing and will be unable to work for 3-6 months , which is very scary when faced with no paycheck and the home bills and medical bills continuing to pile up, Plus one child going off to college.

I know that MANY people love love love this couple and would admit that the Moore's have somehow, someway touched your lives. They are going to need our help now as they recover. So I would humbly ask if you can donate anything at all it would be GREATLY appreciated by the family. I have set this gofundme up for an easy way to give and say "WE CARE, WE LOVE YOU, GET WELL SOON, THANK YOU FOR BEING A BRIGHT SPOT IN OUR LIFE, KEEP PUSHING FORWARD or however you would prefer to say it ! Remember ANYTHING helps !!
All proceeds go directly to Chad and Tammie.

Thank you lord for keeping these two precious people safe and here with us on earth a little longer. Bless them and their family with good health and happy days ahead as they continue to heal. Amen.

AND DONT FORGET ....... in Chads own words , "don't wait to tell someone you love them , do it now .... you may not have a chance to do it later".

Don't take life for granite , it's too short and too much can happen at a minutes notice.

                              God bless you all !!!!!
