Chad Rennie’s Road to Healing

Donation protected

On Aug 6th Chad tested positive for Covid-19. Initially he didn’t seem to have any symptoms but within a few days he started to feel unwell and very quickly declined. A week after his test he needed to be admitted to hospital. On Aug 15th he was put on a ventilator and despite all the best efforts by hospital staff at Victoria General Hospital, he continued to decline. On Aug 19th, Chad was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital and on Sunday Aug 22nd the decision was made to put him on ECMO to give his very sick lungs a chance to rest and heal. He remains in the ICU in a medically induced coma, fighting for his life. Chad needs all the positive energy and prayers he can get right now. His wife, his daughters and his grandkids need him to get better as soon as possible!

As all of Chad’s friends and family know, Chad is an incredibly private, and independent (possibly stubborn) person who would never ask for help but he is also someone who is quick to help his friends and family, every chance he gets.

Chad has spent the last 18 months leading a large-scale construction project in Northern BC, while simultaneously making his dream come true with the opening of his restaurant, Rain Dogs in Victoria BC.

His lungs have suffered permanent damage and Chad has a very long road to recovery ahead of him.

We are reaching out to all of you and asking for donations. Any funds raised will go directly to helping ease the financial burden of him not being able to work for the foreseeable future. His wife, Angela, is currently not working so she can devote all her time and energy to Chad’s well-being and focus on his recovery. Angela will need to travel to Vancouver until he is well enough to return to his beloved island.

Any amount helps and if you aren’t able to donate, please share this campaign.

On behalf of Chad’s colleagues, friends, and family, we thank you for your love, support, and healing thoughts
