Chaco’s Christmas wish for heart surgery

Christopher and I have been fosters for Rezdawg Rescue since early 2014, all our fosters are important to us both. We have donated, fostered and adopted from this organization. It’s truly amazing what a group of people can accomplish!

In October we met Chaco (Taco affectionately called at our house) he  came to CO from NM the end of October. Chaco taco was a 5lb mangey puppy with rickets that he quickly grew out of. Early December he was neutered and microchipped and ready to be adopted except we found out his heart has some problems. We took Chaco taco to CSU veterinary hospital where he was diagnosed with patent
ductus arteriosus, aortic stenosis, mitral valve
dysplasia and ventricular ectopy. With out surgery Chaco taco will live a short life with restrictions and his condition will lead to heart failure.

 Rezdawg does pay for vetting and medical care but $5,000 is a little above the usual expenses.  Chaco’s cardio team is confident that with surgery he will live a longer life and should have the opportunity to be a normal happy dog.  As foster parents we are hoping that sharing his story will help the rescue with the cost a little bit or maybe even a lot bit. Every dollar, every share and yes even every good thought is helpful and welcome!
