<div>At Cycling Cities Project, we share the stories about how cycling as a modern way of mobility has evolved in some selected cities around the world. Till now, this project has covered <strong>50 cities in 25 countries </strong>and is still growing. As a non-profit organization, our mission is to empower historians, cycling advocates, and authors to bring these stories to the world. Together, we aim to extract local solutions for sustainable mobility by creating intercontinental network of expertise and learning from global cases.

<div><strong>The Project:</strong>

<div>We are excited to introduce a groundbreaking book that charts the analytical history of <strong>around 130 years</strong> cycling in Tehran, the capital of Iran. This book is more than just a collection of stories; through a periodic narration and evidence-based discourse, it elaborates how in parallel to the interaction of external flows of modernization with social, political, economic and geographical contexts, cycling has coevolved in Tehran.

<div><strong>Why This Book Matters?</strong>
</div>
<div>For around 130 years cycling as a phenomenon had appeared in transportation system of Tehran. During this time many micro-scale plans have developed to support and organize cycling in Tehran as well as many micro-scale plans developed to strength the automation-centric regime. Cycling in Tehran is a survived sustainable mode of mobility which has experienced ups and downs and despite the interlocked social, economic and political barriers moves forward. Cycling in Tehran project by reflecting the lessens we can learn from history of cycling in Tehran, paves the way for sustainable mobility in the future of Tehran. Moreover, this book figures out critical forces, barriers, potentials and layers, which need to be recognized for alkalizing the cycling regime in other metropolises which like Tehran are located in Muslim, Middle Eastern, and developing countries.

<div>We are going to publish Tehran Cycling Cities book in English and Farsi language, designed regarding the other series of Cycling Cities books. This book directly helps for Sustainability, Middle Eastern and Iranian studies and bike-friendly Tehran.
