Judo, our 5 yr old Akita male was giving me his usual bouncy hello on Thursday in the garden when he suddenly yelped in pain. I've never seen him cry so much, he's generally such a robust dog.
A visit to the PDSA the next day saw him under anaesthetic so they could get a closer look and an X-ray as he was in too much pain for them to feel what was wrong.
The results were not good news.
Jud has torn the cruciate ligament in his back right leg. The vets at PSDA said they were not confident carrying out the complex operation he needs so he can walk again. And so, they advised i take him to a private vet where they have the qualified staff that the PDSA unfortunately cannot afford.
Alas, as a low income lone parent, monthly pet insurance has not been something I could afford, and suffice to say, I can't afford to fund this expensive operation without the support of my friends, family and fellow dog lovers.
Please. Give what you can.
If any additional funds raised beyond the cost of treatment they will be donated to the PDSA, a charity that many people and pets rely on to get the care they would otherwise not be able to afford.
