Our sweet brother Stephen has just been diagnosed with cancer. It is a very rare Cancer, and Stephen is only the 104th reported case. He has had one surgery to remove a mass, but his treatment is not complete.
On August 22, Stephen will be going under again in an effort to completely eradicate the cancer from his young body. In order to get all the cancer from his body, they will be removing his salivary gland, parotid gland, and a couple of lymph glands. They will also completely remove a facial nerve, leaving one side of Stephen's face unmoveable.
After the surgery, Stephen will undergo radiation therapy in hopes that the cancer does not come back. His type of cancer is not responsive to chemotherapy, so at this time, that is off the table.
As you can imagine, this is going to be a very expensive year for Stephen and his new bride, Elizabeth. Stephen will be required to give up his job, as he will have to be off of work until December.
Those of you who know Stephen, know that he is a sweet spirited, kind hearted, hilarious man, and one that would do anything for those around him. He has just started his adventure in his new marriage, they have a home and life together. Cancer won't beat Stephen, and hopefully, with your help, we can all take some of the financial burden off of these newlyweds.
As Stephen's brother and Sister-In-Law, we ask you to prayerfully think about making a donation to this young family. Take some of their burden. Those of you who cannot give at this time, we covet your prayers, as we believe in a healing God.
