The Anderson Family

Wread Anderson is a 19 year old college student at University of Tennessee-Knoxville. In July, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Papillary Thyroid Cancer. The cancerous cells have spread throughout his neck, lymphatic system, and chest cavity. A full body scan has yet to be completed to determine further mastication in his body. On August 26th, he will undergo an 8 - 12 hour surgery with serious risks involved. The cancer covers his carotid artery, spinal nerves, and trachea/larynx. This will be a very complicated and serious surgery considering the vascular issues. Dr. Sinard at Vanderbilt will lead the surgical team. Approximately 5-6 weeks after surgery, Wread will undergo radiation therapy (amount to be determined after full body scan).

The Anderson's have 3 children: Wread, Victoria, and Zoe. Wread is the oldest amd will be a sophomore at UT when he is able to return. Victoria is beginning her senior year in high school. Zoe is  is entering her 8th grade year. Kevin is in organic food sales/distribution. A few days before Wread’s diagnosis was given, Kevin had turned in his resignation at work in order to pursue a new organic food distributor company. His income over the next few months will be very limited due to the start-up of this new company. Heather is a special needs teacher.

This family loves the Lord and feels the assurance of His presence throughout this very difficult situation. However, as friends, co-workers, and brothers and sisters in Christ, we want to help! We greatly appreciate any donation, large or small, to aid their medical bills and living expenses for the next few months.

Their current insurance deductible/co-insurance is $9,000.00, before insurance will even begin to help out. The cost of gas, food, and other expenses will be much larger over the next few months, with numerous trips to Vanderbilt on the horizon. Heather holds the insurance for the family. She currently has only 23 sick days to take off throughout this process. If further complications arise, she will need to take an unpaid leave of absence from work.

If you feel led, please consider giving to this family to help alleviate their financial worry and bring peace in this very difficult time.
