My name is Mohammad Samara, I am 30 years old and from Palestine.
I finished my nursing degree in 2005 , and since 2007 I've worked as a nurse.
I have always been involved in voluntary work and I've devoted all my free time to help my community.
When I was at high school I taught English to students from a school in my home town which is near the city of Nablus.
Then when I moved to Nablus to study Nursing , I became more involved in other kinds of activities and voluntary work. I provided first aid, health awareness and health education workshops. I volunteered with many organizations as an English teacher , translator and animator in summer camps.
During my time as a nurse and volunteer I've met people from all over the world and built strong friendships and developed productive working relationships.
Through my experiences I have gained many skills such as team work, people management, supporting and educating children, providing excellent and efficient care to patients, translating as well as working and supporting people from various cultures. I use this knowledge to give the best to my community.
A few months ago in February 2014 I heard about a volunteering opportunity in an organization based in Poznan, Poland which is called (Stowarzyszene Jeden Swiat). The program is called the European Voluntary Service (EVS) it is funded by the UN and Erasmus + , and the service provides educational support to deaf children and teenagers within a school. http://jedenswiat.org.pl/cms/15154/About
I applied to volunteer with this program because I know that going there I will not only provide support, but I will also learn new skills such as supporting children who have disabilities as well as living and working in a different country and culture. I will be able to use these skills when I return to Palestine.
During my 10 months in Poland I will be provided with......
But I don't have any savings to take with me because I provide financial support to my family. This would make it difficult for me to commute and buy essential items during my stay.
Any support that could be received would be incredible and allow me to fully engage with the program.
