Fight for Cathy

In 2008 I was first diagnosed with DCIS. After three surgeries 2 weeks apart the last was a masectomy, Pathology came back and said I was cancer free, so they put me on a maintenace drug called Tamoxifen. For 2 years there was no problems. In 2010 the cancer had come back as stage 4 and had mastisized. I went through a year of Chemo infusions and 40 treatments of radiation. Everything looked good, but in the Spring of 2013 it was back once again, only this time on the surface of the skin. Since April of 2013 I have been going through chemo infusions and trying numerous different chemos to get it under control and so far the cancer finds another way to continue to attack my system. It has been almost 1 1/2 years that I have had treatments at least once a week and it seems to slow down then comes back. I have been told that I will have chemo the rest of my life in some form if we can get it under control again.So with that being said, I continue on this journey of trying to rid my body of this disease. In a few weeks we will know when we head to Denver Co for a consultation with a board of specialists, and get a treatment program set up.
