The Tragedy of Unaltered Pets

How can you help thousands of animals? Your donation can help us stop unwanted litters in York County SC. King is a 7 month old lab mix who lives chained. He is just one of many examples of how dogs wind up chained and unaltered producing more and more unwanted animals. King's mother, Princess, lives around the corner from him, also chained. Princess has had over 24 puppies in her short 2 years of life. Recently, her last litter of 13 was given out at a convenient store. We found 2 them roaming in the middle of a busy road at 6 weeks of life. The rest of the 11 puppies will end up just like their mother did if we don't take action. Often the sad fate of FREE PUPPIES, as the cuteness wears off in a few days, is ending up at a shelter or worse, abused or abandoned. We help stop this cycle with Project Safe Pet and Second Chance Rescue's Community Outreach Program by talking to owners, in areas with high pet population problems, about their pet's quality of life and the importance of spaying and neutering. We spay and neuter approximately 30-35 animals from the community every month. We organize and drive them to a veterinary clinic.
  Luckily, King's family wants to improve his quality of life and asked for our assistance. His mother, Princess, is also going to be spayed. The intake numbers are declining at the York County Animal Control Shelter and will continue with your help, but we can't do it without your support. Your donation can help stop thousands from being born into neglectful or abusive situations. Our goal is to raise $3000, this can help us spay and neuter approximately 75 dogs and cats -- helping us to get closer to ending our pet over population problem!
