Autism Classroom Read and Talk

Donation protected

People sometimes assume that individuals with autism have limited intelligence, but in my classroom, we are proving them wrong every day! I am a past finalist for state teacher of the year, and I run a demonstration/model classroom for preschool age students with autism.  My students have challenges with communication, so participating in literacy activities and other academic tasks, as well as communicating their basic needs, is difficult for them.  Last year I purchased an iPad myself to use in my classroom, and I was astounded at the success my students experienced:  they were able to communicate, and learned to read.  The screen above is just one example of the sentences that my non verbal students were creating independently in response to literature, using a voice output app.
My goal is to have iPads for each student in my classroom, but I am starting with a request for three.  These iPads will not only help my students, but will assist me in training other teachers and staff in best practices for teaching students with autism.  Presume competence...and help these bright young children achieve their potential!  Thank you in advance!

The money I am asking for will cover the cost of three iPad 4 tablets plus a protective case for each.
